The demographic changes of recent years and the projections for the future are paving the way for Canada to become the second « most ageing country ». By 2035, 25% of Quebec’s population will be over 65 years old. This population will be educated, and demand a high quality of life.
Driven by seniors as participants and consumers, the marketplace is changing. France, by way of comparison, allocated expenditures for their senior population in 2015 as follows: 54% of goods and services, 64% of health, 56% of insurance, 57% of leisure, and 58% for residences. This represents a major market for most companies.
